Dr. Fei Xue was born at a small village of Hebei Province, China. He obtained his bachelor degree from the Department of Physics at Naning University in 2010. Then he joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Penn State University, and obtained his Ph.D degree in 2015. After graduation, he stayed in the same group and became a postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Fei Xue's main research interest is in developing Landau-theory description for functional materials and employing phase-field simulations to investigate the temporal evolution of domain structures with and without external stimuli. The studied systems include multiferroic bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3), hexagonal manganites, Ruddlesden-Popper ferroelectrics, PZT systems (PbZrxTi1-xO3), and VO2. |
